CONNECTIVITY

  • Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project (BSRP) is a new Suburban Railway Project envisaging construction of 4dedicated rail corridors in a period of 6 years.
  • It will link Bengaluru to its satellite townships, suburbs, surrounding areas and provide a mass rail based rapidtransit system.

CLEANER COMMUTE

  • On commissioning, the project will carry more than 10 lakh passengers on a daily basis.
  • It will ease traffic congestion and provide a cleaner mobility solution thereby reducing pollution and carbon footprints.

COMFORT

  • The project with its Air conditioned and Metro-like trains will provide a speedier, safer and comfortable mode of rail travel.
  • The project will enhance rural-urban connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and provide a cleaner mobility solution to lakhs of daily commuters.

COST EFFECTIVE

  • The fares will be at affordable rates providing an economic alternative to lakhs of daily commuters.
  • A route length of 148.17 Km will be built at a total cost of Rs. 15,767 crores through a combination ofproject financing and land monetisation.

CONVERGENCE

  • BSRP will integrate multiple modes of transport and provide a convergent transit solution to commuters.
  • At more than 60% of its stations, passengers will be able to inter change with other modes of transport like Indian Railways and local Metro network.

COMMERCE STIMULUS

  • BSRP will build 57 new stations, hosting a wide spectrum of commercial activities.
  • It will promote Make in India and Aatmanirbharata initiative and become a platform for boosting transit-oriented development across its four corridors.
